PD Dr. Thekla von Kalle in Programmkommittee des ECR berufen

Frau PD Dr. Thekla von Kalle, Vizepräsidentin der GPR und Ärztliche Direktorin des Radiologischen Instituts im Olgahospital Klinikum Stuttgart, wurde als Chair des Scientific Subcommittee Paediatrics in das Programmkommittee des European Congress of Radiology 2021 berufen.

Über Thekla von Kalle

Thekla von Kalle is Head of the Department of Radiology at the Olgahospital Klinikum, Stuttgart, one of Germany’s largest children’s hospitals.

After her medical studies at the University of Bonn, she worked at the Munich Perinatal Study in the development of premature newborns. She became a board-certified paediatrician and neonatologist, and, during her internship in sonography, discovered her interest in imaging. She trained in Munich and Stuttgart, finishing with board certifications in radiology and paediatric radiology. She is currently Privatdozentin (Associate Professor) at the Medical Faculty of the University of Tübingen.

She is a renowned expert in paediatric musculoskeletal radiology and imaging in paediatric oncology, including neuroradiology, having published several scientific articles and book chapters. She is a reference radiologist for the COSS (Cooperative Osteosarcoma Study) and CWS (Cooperative Soft Tissue Sarcoma Study), and an invited speaker at national and international meetings, including the ECR. Her special interests include whole-body MRI, dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI, and ENT imaging.

She is a member of the Editorial Board of Paediatric Radiology, a reviewer for several journals on radiology and rheumatology, and actively involved in commissions of diagnostic guidelines at national institutions for radiation protection of children.

Thekla von Kalle is Vice President of the German Speaking Society of Pediatric Radiology (GPR). She hosted the society’s annual meeting in 2016 and currently organises regular training courses and seminars. She is also an active member of the DRG (German Radiological Society), DEGUM (German Society for Ultrasound in Medicine), and ESPR (European Society of Paediatric Radiology).
